Dr. George Hermanson is the director of the Madawaska Institute of Culture and Religion.
The Institute offers workshops and opportunities for reflection, retreats and spiritual consulting, individuals or groups in the following areas:

- Ecological theology
- Interfaith
- Process Theology
- Science and Religion
- Jazz and worship
- Preaching
- Organizational Transformation
- Spiritual guidance
Dr. Hermanson is available for group work or you can make arrangements for retreat experience. The Institute have other experts with whom we work.
Dr. Hermanson is a United Church of Canada Minister who received his doctorate at Claremont School of Theology in California, BA at UBC and Masters in Ethics and Theology at Chicago Theological Seminary. He studied with John Cobb and David Griffin. His doctoral work was a an interdisciplinary theory of the self as agent using Process Theology, Sociology, Psychology and current issues. He has been active in the Center for Process Thought and Process and Faith since 1978. He was a member of the Jesus Seminar. With Peter Woods he has developed Jazz liturgies. He has been a parish minister, director of an United Church Educational Centre and Chaplain at UBC.
